About this opportunity:

Empowered to Work is a joint project of JRS and House of Welcome. The project empowers people seeking asylum to become job ready through a 7 stage workshop schedule which delivers necessary knowledge and skills to assist people as they prepare to enter the Australian workplace.

This role requires volunteers who can facilitate 2 hour workshops, weekly or fortnightly (content and resources provided) around one or more of the 7 project stages. There are several positions to be filled.

Up to 10 people per workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up the workshop room
  • Welcoming people
  • Delivering the workshop
  • Providing support for people as they work through workshop material and activities
  • Packing up the room


Additional requirements:

A Working with Children Check is required.

Tuesdays 10am-12.30pm and/or 12.30pm – 3pm
