The Refugee Advice and Casework Service (RACS) seeks dedicated law students to join its team of committed human rights lawyers as part of the RACS Volunteer Program.
The August 2019 intake has now closed, thank you to all who applied. RACS is currently accepting applications for the November 2019 intake of the RACS Volunteer Program. Applications will be reviewed closer to the intake date.
Please note, due to the large numbers of applications we receive, only successful candidates will be contacted.
- Drafting statements
- Assisting with client enquiries
- Scheduling client appointments
- Various other administrative and legal tasks
Please attach to your application your current CV and a cover letter setting out your interest in working at RACS, addressed to Vicky Chen, Volunteer Coordinator.

About this organisation:
You must be willing to commit to at least one full day (9.30am – 5.00pm) for a minimum of period of three monthsSkills required:
• Able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders in a confident and a respectful manner.
• Previous volunteer experience
• Administrative and organisational experience
• Sense of humour.
A commitment to human rights and social justice, an understanding of the issues that affect people seeking asylum, and a capacity to problem-solve.Training:
