About this opportunity:
JRS is looking for volunteers to help people seeking asylum with employment support. This role assists the Employment Support team and may include the following duties:
- Assist people with writing and tailoring a resume.
- Assist people with pre-employment skills to prepare for interviews and write cover letters.
- Assist people with researching and applying for jobs.
- Liaise with local businesses and organisations who might be potential employers.

The Employment program will be closing for December 2019. Volunteers will be needed in 2020 and applications will be considered early in the New Year.
A Working with Children and Police Check are required.
About this organisation:
Mondays 9.30am-3pm (negotiable) either weekly or fortnightly; or Tuesdays (time negotiable).Skills required:
Good communication skills and basic computer skills are needed.
Experience in writing resumes and cover letters would be very useful.
Knowledge of recruitment processes and the ability to engage potential employers highly regarded.
Volunteers must be empathetic to people seeking asylum.
Patience and respect of different cultural practices is also required.
Core training session with the Hub.
JRS Induction which will cover the history, mission, and values of JRS, the global work of JRS and the global context of forcibly displaced people, the Arrupe Project and its services, case studies, boundaries, and the Volunteer Manual.
Employment support volunteers are required to do a short training specific to this role.
