Who we are

RACS staff and volunteers

RACS is an independent community legal centre with a vision of a world where people seeking asylum and refugees who seek Australia’s protection are able to live their lives with dignity, security, family unity and freedom.

RACS provides free, specialist legal services for people seeking asylum and refugees. Through individual advice sessions, community education and public advocacy, RACS strives to ensure that individuals and families at risk of persecution gain access to equal and fair representation before the law.

Volunteering with RACS

The success of our work heavily relies on the support we receive from legal student volunteers, administrative volunteers, Practical Legal Trainees, events volunteers, volunteer interpreters, and seconded solicitors.

We are open Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm. We often hold events on weekends that require volunteer support.

Bus iconCentral Station is the closest train station to RACS, about 30mins (5.5km) by bus.
