Despite the many challenges people face fleeing to find safety, there are many stories of hope, resilience and kindness experienced along the way.

As part of the Refugee Camp In My Neighbourhood campaign, Cumberland Council has commissioned photographer Nikki To and writer Sophie McComas to capture seven diverse community members’ unique stories following their arrival in Australia. Sharing their journeys, each story and portrait focuses on one good thing that had a monumental impact on each person’s new life in Australia.
